Russian politics just got more interesting. Former Playboy model Maria Kozhevnikova won a parliamentary seat in recent elections.
Maria Kozhevnikova will represent Tomsk in the Russian parliament as a member of Vladimir Putin's United Russia Party.
"For me this is an absolutely big event in my life,' said Kozhevnikova after her election.
'I’m just an ordinary citizen of the Russian Federation. With the problems I face every day, now I’ll be provided a platform where I can speak up the difficulties and offer solutions.
Kozhevnikova has been in the public eye before. She was the lead singer of a band called Love Stories and starred in a popular Russian sitcom. Her father is former Olympic ice hockey player Alexander Kozhevnikov.
A couple of years back, she posed in Russian Playboy after a break-up with her boyfriend.
